The whole studio,
on one calm screen.

VelvetChair OS runs the day for independent salons, spas and barber studios — the book, the walk-ins, the clients, the till and the stock — with a record that cannot be quietly rewritten.

The system

Everything the floor does, engineered into one operating system.

Every claim below is a working feature — exercised by the acceptance battery, not promised in a brochure.

Today — the morning briefing

The book hour by hour with chair and value per appointment, the net at the till, walk-ins waiting, stock running low, and the 90-day rebooking rate. The owner reads one screen and knows the business.

Today dashboard with appointments, till total, queue count and rebooking rate
booking

Cannot collide. Cannot duplicate.

An overlap check refuses a double-booked chair outright; an idempotency key makes a double-click record exactly one appointment.

queue

Walk-ins stay visible.

Arrival order, seat-at-chair, done or left. Even walk-aways are recorded as real demand you could not serve.

clients

One card per relationship.

Contact, preferences and allergies, every visit with service and chair, and lifetime value at the till. The stylist reads the notes before mixing colour.

till

A till that reconciles and reverses — never erases.

Card, cash, online. Each sale recorded once per key; refunds need a reason and keep the original record. The day always nets out.

stock

Warns before the shelf is empty.

Retail and back-bar thresholds surface on the morning dashboard, not mid-appointment.

security

Serious about sign-in.

Hashed passwords plus authenticator codes, roles for owner, manager and stylist, rate limits and strict headers. Zero external CDNs.

the record

History you can prove.

01

Every action is written down. Bookings, check-ins, sales, refunds, stock moves, sign-ins — each lands in an append-only log with the actor and the second it happened.

02

Every line is chained to the one before it. Each event carries a fingerprint of its predecessor, back to the very first one.

03

Tampering shows itself. Edit a single historical line and the chain breaks exactly there — demonstrated live by the acceptance battery, not claimed in a slide.

04

Verification is one click. The Record page re-checks the whole chain and says so in plain words.

Proof, not promises

Checked by machines, re-checkable by you.

The demo is the real system.

A fictional studio — Velvet Chair Studio — with demonstration data, labelled as such on every page. Sign in, book someone, break something, verify the record.

docker build -t velvetchair-os . docker run -d -p 80:5088 -e VELVETCHAIR_SECRET=<secret> -v velvetchair-data:/app/data velvetchair-os
owner / velvet2026 — full control
manager / velvet2026 — floor + reversals
stylist / velvet2026 — the floor
Each account then asks for a 6-digit authenticator code — the seeder writes the demo secrets locally for your authenticator app.
